Adult Rape Clinic (ARC) is calling upon all citizens to wear Denim (Jeans) tomorrow as a sign of raising awareness against rape and sexual assault.
Posting on their social media platform ARC said they are going to hold a rape and sexual assault prevention education campaign as a way of addressing misconceptions around rape and all forms of sexual assault.
“April is a sexual assault awareness month. There is no excuse and neer an invitation for rape or any form of sexual violence. Wear Denim and Donate/Encourage your friends, family, colleagues to contribute towards the cause by supporting rape survivors. All proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards the upkeep and needs of those affected by Sexual Violence,”
ARC will be advocating for different people like disabled persons, married persons, survivors of sexual assault, homeless women and children, victims and also pretty women.
“Survivors of Sexual Assault are 3 times more likely to suffer from depression, six times more likely to suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder .People living with disability are also sexually assaulted. Sexual assault can occur in a married or other intimate partner relationship,”
“Homeless women and children living and working in the streets are more likely to have experienced severe physical or sexual abuse at some point in their lives,”“People still find it difficult to understand that when someone says “No” or “Stop”, that means STOP. Sexual activity forced upon another without consent is sexual assault,”
