CAPS United FC goalkeeper, Jorum Muchambo has been arraigned before a Harare magistrate on allegations of stealing property worth US$835 from his ex-girlfriend.
Muchambo, 33, pleaded not guilty to theft charges when he appeared before magistrate Rumbidzai Dzumbira.
State witness Talent Matsengarwodzi said:
“When we broke up, he sent me a screenshot accusing me of dumping him after I was made a brand ambassador for Caps United FC.
“That is how I knew he stole my phone because i know how I had saved my screen shots.
Muchambo denied the allegations and told the court that Matsengarwodzi is the one who gave him the items in question when they were still in love.
The matter was differed to next week for trial continuation.
Allegations are that sometime between the month of June and July last year, Muchambo went to Matsengarwodzi’s house where he reportedly stole two cellphones, a bottle of lotion, reading glasses and two t-shirts.
It was reported that Matsengarwodzi discovered the offence when Muchambo sent her a screenshot from one of the cellphones.
