Chamisa elected acting president for MDC

Nelson Chamisa today has been elected by the executive and national council of the Movement for Democratic Change to be the Acting President for the next twelve months.

Following the passing on of the president and founder of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC T) Morgan Tsvangirai last night, the question remained unanswered on who was going to take over the post of the president?

For the previous weeks the party has been having disputes over who was to succeed Morgan Tsvangirai.

In a press conference held today at the party headquarters in Harare Nelson Chamisa said that “the day of burial will be announced soon after confirming with the family of Morgan Tsvangirai.”

After the press conference, the acting president N. Chamisa went to address thousands of supporters who were outside the headquarters.

In his address he told the crowds that everything is under control and gave them the guarantee that the party is going to win the upcoming elections.

Chamisa said “I am going to talk to Mr Mudzuri and Mrs Khupe so that we can join hands and defeat Zanu Pf in the upcoming elections.”

In any interview with one of the MDC supporters he told ZimOnline News that “I am happy with the decision that has been made by the executive and national council to elect Chamisa as the acting president of the party.”
