Chiwenga to rest before bouncing back to the office

President Emmerson Mnangagwa  yesterday visited VP Chiwenga and his wife Mary at their residence following their return from South Africa, where they were receiving treatment.

George Charamba said Health and Child Care Deputy Minister Dr  John Mangwiro who had accompanied  the VP Chiwenga  and his wife  to South Africa  briefed the President that  the V P needed time to rest before  he resumed  the demanding  duties of his office.

“Dr  Mangwiro told the President in very clear terms that the Vice President must be given sufficient time to rest and that he must keep away from the office for a while.”

Vice President yesterday again sent a  message on twitter  appreciating messages from everyone for his recovery,

I’m back home now and doing fine .Reading your get-well messages helped me  in my recovery .i appreciate it much.” reads the message.

It is not any easy road  for the President as his two deputies are not feeling well looking at the demanding duties of their office as VP Mohadi is said to also frequently travel to South Africa for treatment.

In April this year Mohadi failed  to attend  the Independence  day  celebrations at the  National  sports stadium  in Harare. He also failed to  appear before the  Mines and Energy Committee  which  he had been scheduled  to give  oral evidence before the Mines and Energy  Portfolio  Committee, after travelling to South Africa for an undisclosed ailment.Again in July he was undergoing  physiotherapy  in South Africa  following injuries  he sustained  from a “bomb” explosion at the White  City Stadium after President Emmerson Mnangagwa had addressed a Zanu Pf rally.
