Songstress Cindy Rufaro Munyavi has put the Zimbabwean music industry on the continental map, clinching the fiercely contested for Best Female Artiste in Southern Africa beating the likes of Zahara, Mampi and Lira who have an extensive global dominance at the All Africa Music Awards held last night in Lagos, Nigeria.
Cindy, who recently ventured into fashion, opening her own fashion outlet in the capital CBD, took pride in dressing her own design and did not disappoint. Sharing grande audience and stage with all Africa’s elite showbiz, business and political greats, she humbly represented Zimbabwe at ambassadorial level.
Managed by Elton Bryce of Bryce Nation, Cindy has made hits with Ndidzorere Moyo Wangu, Parere Moyo and of recent has trended affectionately with Ndiri Mupenyu.
“Earlier in the year I got ill and felt I may not pull through. That is when I yearned for that love while I can still feel, experience and touch it and the song just came through”, said Cindy in passing conversation.
Social media has been buzzing all morning with messages of congratulations.
