ED buys private Media Group: company waters down rumours

AIpha Media Holdings Group (AMH) has dismissed reports circulating on social media that President Mnangagwa has bought 30% of the Media Group through his son-in-law Gerald Mlotshwa.

In a statement, company secretary Prudence N.Mutsvanga said the AMH has not been in any negotiations with the President or anybody purporting to represent him.

Mutsvanga also said the company’s principles are protected by AMH main board, the independent Editorial Advisory Board and Public Ombudsman who is a respected retired High Court Judge.

The company is owned by Trevor Ncube who is reportedly to have been appointed as Mnangagwa’s advisor.
