President Emmerson Mnangagwa said the government is disturbed by the continuous false abductions in the country.
In a speech which he presented before he left to the United States of America (USA) Mnangagwa said these fake and political abductions are meant to tarnish the image of the government.
“Government is disturbed by the growing trend of politically motivated false abductions in the country which are calculated in negative, such politically trigger which is fact amongst to terrorism will not take our country forward,” Mnangagwa said.
“The state has a responsibility to ensure protection and safety of all citizens,” he added.
The President said new measures will be put to deal with these false abductions.
Zimbabwe has a long history of abductions, abuse and torture. The Zimbabwe Hospital Doctors Association Dr Peter Magombeyi was allegedly abducted by 3 unknown men on Saturday. Other abductions include the president of Amalgamated Rural Teachers Association Obert Masaraure, MDC officials and Busstop top Comedian Samantha Kureya aka Gonyeti.
