The economic crisis in Zimbabwe has led to a shortage supply of medicine and treatment, Zimbabwe’s proud health system is deteriorating at an alarming rate, health facilities are worsening drastically following the foreign currency shortages leading to high cost price of medical drugs in hospitals and pharmacies.
Meanwhile the Vice President of Zimbabwe Constantino Chiwenga arrived from South Africa a few days ago, where he was receiving his treatment, this proves that right in Zimbabwe there is no proper treatment for his illness and this on its own implies that the country cannot sustain to proper treatment even to its top officials.
The unavailability of medicines in the country is happening contrary to what the President Emerson Mnangagwa once claimed late last month that government will offer help to the healthy sector ,
“My administration will prioritize funding of the health system “, said Mnangagwa .
However, local clinics and pharmacies are even going to an extent of charging an extra fee for the HIV anti-retro viral drugs whereas the drugs are supposed to be given for free therefore causing health problems for the public as the drugs are an essential to their living conditions.
