Iconic Moment: Knowledge Musona restores warriors lost victory

Knowledge Masona’s outrageous skill and deft ball control helped him gain legendary status with the Warrior football fans yesterday at National Sports Stadium in Harare. It was at a 3-0 match against Liberia.

It was a credible event as the footballer restored the Warriors glory since legend players like Peter Ndlovu, Benjani Mwaruwaru and Cephas Chimedza left the league.

Not only was Masona goals brilliant, the match with Liberia was a turn over point in Zimbabwean football shows were defenders, midfielders, strikers showed a mutual understanding of the game and worked together.

Musona’s ability to control his game is impressive and he managed to set the tempo for the entire team just like Peter Ndlovu in his old days.

Zimbabwe’s warrior team already has got best performances but is lacking goal scoring feats and yesterday Musona showcased a talent and a remarkable performance that was needed for the teams’ success.

He is the first Warriors captain to score an AFCON (African Cup of Nations) hat-trick thus the team is now qualifier for the 2019 AFCON matches. They await a match with the Republic of Congo in March 2019.

“It was a team effort and what is important is that we won” said Musona who is still in the prime of his career playing for K.V Oostende as a striker in Belgium.

At the moment this game stands out as the Warriors most complete performance since time immemorial when Zimbabwe’s Warriors football team was captained by Peter Ndlovu.
