MDC Alliance MPs move out of Parliament

Movement for Democratic Change (MDC Alliance) Members of Parliament stormed out of the Parliament as the President Emmerson Mnangagwa was about to give his State of the Nation Address today in Harare.

The moving out of the opposition party out of the Parliament has left the other Members of Parliament from ZANU Pf criticising the move.

Energy Mutodi who is the deputy Minister for Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services commented on his twitter account the following:

President Mnangagwa makes his move. Addresses a joint sitting of National Assembly & Senate. Meanwhile, as we predicted MDC MPs storm out. They came to Parliament only to sleep in hotels and get fuel coupons leaving the business they were elected for. Shame!

Temba Mliswa independent Member of Parliament for Norton Constituency had this to say about the MDC Alliance MPs moving out.

Opposition walking out of Parly is unsustainable & unproductive for the Nation. They however want the cars & all the benefits”

“There is need for being patriotic by these opposition legislators.”

Today the President Mnangagwa opened the 9th session of the Parliament in Harare.
