The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has received a donation from Save the Children at the head offices at ambassador house in Harare today.
In a speech by Ms Sarah Blin Country director which was read on her behalf by the programme’s director of the organisation Mr Clement Mhlanga he mentioned that the organisation was donating some computer equipment to 8 districts that are far from reach.
“Currently, Save the Children is working in partnership with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education across ten districts generally hard to reach districts which include Mbire, Rushinga, Binga, Gokwe North and south, Hwange, Matobo, Beitbridge, Muzarabani and Harare.”
He also said that “I am pleased to inform you that our organisation has been supporting the Ministry of Primary and Secondary education across the districts to improve the quality of the learning environment for children.”
The computers donated to the Ministry are valued at $11 028. The total to be disbursed directly to the Ministry amounts to $340 308.
The donation was well received by the permanent secretary of the Ministry Dr Utete- Masango.
“We must embrace the new curriculum so that our children can grow up equipped in this technological world” said Dr Masango.
Dr Masango appreciated Higher Life foundation for the donation that they have also given the Ministry.
