Mliswa warns Norton Councillors over corruption

The Member of Parliament for Norton Constituency has warned the Norton Town Councillors to desist from any form of corruption. He has since oversighted that on his twitter handle this morning that no form of corruption is allowed.

“A lot of talk is made about corruption at the top but we must all make sure that our houses are clean. I’m determined to root out any corruption at the NTC & have a clean Norton that will attract good investment & better service delivery for the people.”

“Those Councillors that have just come into office to plunder from the people and do nothing be warned….. your days are numbered.”

“One of MDC’s biggest let downs in Norton has been their Councillors who don’t work. They were elected on the back of the @NelsonChamisa “wave” not that they’ve done anything for the people. As the rainy season approaches it’s going to be a nightmare again if they don’t act.”

“In the quest for transparency I have written to the Auditor-General to carry out a forensic audit of the Norton Town Council. 3 Councillors, the Finance Director, Mr. Tendaupenyu& the Director of Housing, Mr. Mutyambizi have recently been either arrested or suspended from work.”

“Criteria determining the minimum qualifications, capacity & experience for one to stand as an MP or Councillor must be enacted. It’s not just a matter of one standing but can you do the job?”

A several weeks ago Mliswa took the previous Norton Town Council Chairperson Precious Mufahore to court over issues of corruption.
