Zimbabwe’s former Vice President and leader of the National People’s Party challenging Robert Mugabe’s thirty seven year rule of the country, Dr Joice Teurai Ropa Mujuru drew cheers at the Sheroes Forum which ended this past Saturday in Accra Ghana where she was the Guest Speaker.
In her maiden speech, Mujuru who is contesting to unseat her former boss, in the same run with Morgan Tsvangirai who has presided over MDC party in the previous three elections lamented the challenges that female politicians face on their ascension or attempt to power.
She applauded the women’s coalition drive as well the #Shevotes18 campaigns as a signal that women are now determined to stand up and be numbered in the sociopolitical circles of Zimbabwe and beyond.

In the speech, she paid solidarity to the former President of Malawi, Dr Joyce Banda, the South African former Democratic Alliance party leader, Hellen Zille and many more.
Mujuru acknowledged the merits she received from Sheroes Forum 2016 (Dubai), Women Appreciating Women Honour 2016 from Dr Pauline Long (London) and the forum’s electing her the Guest Speaker of 2017.
