Stand out moment for Warriors

The 2017 COSAFA cup has ended sensationally with Zimbabwe’s Warriors reigning supreme, gaining victory once again in the soccer fields.

Yesterday  was a day of jubilation for the  Warriors as they displayed excellence and great team work with Knox Mutizwa, Talent Chawapiwa and Ocean Mushure scoring 3-1 against Zambia.
With senior warriors playing the final game it wasn’t out of financial emotives but it was, love for soccer and they indeed revived the sincerely missed glory of the  Warriors.
Personally, I think this match had all the ingredients of a great match –goals, end to end football, star players and good coaching from former footballer Sunday “Mhofu” Chidzambwa.
Warriors players are not as complete as they once were when we compare the brilliance and soccer art that the likes of Peter Ndlovu, Benjani Mwaruwari, Moses Chunga displayed in the field but the challenge they  put against Zambia was frightening.
The variables in football are such that you need luck, perhaps, “good luck” to be the top goal scorers because it is a win or lose game.In football it is the number of scores that will determine if you qualify for the next match or if you going home.
The Warriors have crossed a huge psychological barrier where their efforts in the past few years was once demeaned as losers, unorganized, under-payed and inferior. They are coming up pretty strong,  united and definitely for the medals.
We don’t expect them to win everyday but what Zimbabwean footballers are doing can be summed up as classy, fresh and entertaining and it is perfectly a job well done.
