Teenage Mom Murders Daughter

A teenager has been nabbed for allegedly strangling a three-year-old toddler to death using a neck chain two weeks ago in Epworth, Harare.

To cover up the offence, Talent Kuvimba allegedly left a candle burning on the bed where the body of the toddler was lying.

It was reported that the candle eventually burnt the house and the dead body beyond recognituion.

Kuvimba, 18, was not asked to plead when she appeared before Harare magistrate Tilda Mazhande charged with murder.

The matter was deferred to April 5 after she was advised to apply for bail at the high Court.

It is the State’s case that on March 10, at around 10pm, at number 1702 A, Chinamano in Epworth, Kuvimba strangled a toddler to death using a neck chain.

To cover up the offence and purport as if the death was caused by accident, Kuvimba reportedly left a burning candle on the bed where the body of the toddler was lying.

It was reported that the candle eventually burnt the house including the dead body beyond recognition.

Kuvimba reportedly came back later and proceeded to the police station where she reported that the baby was burnt after she accidentally left a candle burning when she went to the shopping center.

The police officers attended the scene and the dead body was taken to Harare Central Hospital.

On March 12, a forensic post mortem was done and it was concluded that the death was due to a neck injury.

It was also revealed that there was a neck chain that had sunk into the neck due to strangulation on the neck.
