Tyler Perry announced that he will be retiring from his notorious Madea character in 2019.
His latest movie Acrimony which features Taraj Henson was the cause of social media stir over the past few months as his fans debated on the simplicity and complexity of the movie.
For the past 20 years, Perry an actor, director, producer, has played the role of Madea , a gun-carrying ,vulgarity spouting grandmother who is not afraid to throw hands when necessary or to speak her opinions.
Speaking on the SiriusXM radio show , Perry revealed that Madea will make one last appearance in the forthcoming film ,’Tyler Perry’s A Madea Family Funeral,’ set to be released in 2019 based on Perry’s admission.
It may be the profane matriarch being laid to rest. Since the character’s debut in 1999 in the play ‘I Can Do Bad All By Myself’, it has grossed more than $500million worldwide at the box office from 10 films.
