In an interview with Ziyali who stage name is ‘Man Edie’ shared his visions and goals as a man who just entering one of the most challenging genres in as far as Zimbabwean music is concerned. He also made it known to us the challenges that he and his group called the Impact band faces.
“The Impact band is still a growing band that has passionate musicians especially with the Sungura genre. One of the main reasons why we choose to go up with Sungura was because we saw that it is more appealing to our society the norms and values that we share.”
“As an upcoming musician I have faced criticism just because people believe that Sungura is associated with old people and us young stars should concentrate on Zimdance hall like the others who are still young. My inspiration came from people like Somandala Ndebele, Tongai Moyo and these men gave a lot of lessons in life.”
“Our recent project is a collections album which consist of six tracks as follows Mashura, Magwira gwira, zvichapera rini, Amai havarohwe, Amwene and dzungu. We are going to be release another project in December called Mashura.”
