Zimbabwe Electricity Distribution Company (ZETDC) has announced that it is extending load shedding hours outside the published schedule due to a huge rise in demand of electricity.
The increament of load shedding is due to a huge rise in demand in excess of 1800MW against low generation. This means that there is a huge demand and use of electricity against low generation of electricity which is underway.
In most parts of the country, load shedding hours were between 5am-10pm (17hours) schedule. This means that the hours will extend outside the published schedule.
However ZETDC said that a bigger unit is expected into service during the peak period which will provide relief to Zimbabweans in this hard time.
