Young and promising 31year ol Chipinge magistrate, Waini Makamera has died in a horrific traffic collision, a scene that is gruesomely gripping Zimbabwe roads countrywide amid increasing concerns the road infrastructure and most vehicles are no longer fit for service.
Just hours after two buses claimed around 26 lives just outside Harare, a member of the judicial sitting whose resume at such a young age has been commended within the communities he served and the nation at large has become the latest victim. He died on the spot after the car he was driving was involved in a head on collision with a truck in Wengezi area between Mutare and Chipinge.
Secretary General of the Magistrates Association of Zimbabwe, Mr Donald Ndirowei confirmed that Makamera died in a road accident on Sunday.
Mr Ndirowei said the association has been robbed of a young man who had great potential.
Makamera joined the Judicial Service Commission in 2010 as a trainee magistrate and was sworn-in in 2011 after which he was posted to Chipinge Magistrates Court.
He is survived by his wife, Esther and one child. – Bulawayo24
