Former Finance Minister Tendai Biti said there is no guarantee that President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government will solve the economic crisis that the country is facing.
Posting on his twitter handle Biti said there is no assurance that the rates will be normal and fuel ques will be a history in Zimbabwe.
“It is absolutely ridiculous to believe that the rate will soften, ques will disappear and power blackouts will be a thing of the past under Emmerson. It is faith of an asinine type of think that ZANU can ever turn around this economy .In short it is just absurd to believe in #ZANU,” Biti said.
Biti believed that the crisis in Zimbabwe is political which can be resolved by Emmerson Mnangagwa and MDC President Nelson Chamisa through dialogue.
Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube has recently introduced the Statutory Instrument 142 of 2019 which scrapped the multi-currency system. The move was to ease the economic crisis in the country.
