British Minister speaks to Chamisa and SB Moyo

Harriett  Baldwin a British Minister  for State at the Foreign Office  spoke to Nelson Chamisa and  Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister  Sibusiso Moyo as she called that all parties must maintain a peaceful atmosphere.

She confirmed the news today through her twitter account.

I spoke to @nelsonchamisa and @MinisterSBMoyo today, urging all parties in #Zimbabwe to call for calm while challenges to the election result are considered. #UK extremely concerned by violence & human rights violations. We call for Zimbabwe security forces to act with restraint.”

Nelson Chamisa has also confirmed that he has spoken with the British Minister for State at the Foreign Office.

On his twitter handle he had this to comment,

“Just had special call from the UK Minister for Africa, @hbaldwin. We had a great conversation regarding political developments in Zimbabwe. I’m encouraged by the UK government’s insistence on standards for human rights, credible elections and rule of law.”

The issue of human rights has been a talk of many foreign observers following tragic events of 01 August whereby the soldiers shot civilians in Harare.
