Chief Felix Nhlanhlayamangwe Ndiweni of Ntabazinduna in Matabeleland South has encouraged all citizens to take party in the MDC-A demonstrations to be held on the 16th of August 2019.
The chief assured people to protest without fear because they have the right to do so, as it was reiterated in the country’s constitution.
“We all have that right to protest, it is within our constitution. Indeed protest is part of democracy .It is impossible to have democracy, if protest is not allowed. There is no need to fear or to be troubled by the coming protest,” Ndiweni said.
The traditional leader has also described the day as a family day of engagement and communication with the country’s administration.
“I’m hopefully think that on this occasion this protest will be a family day ,bring out your whole family, your mum your dad, kids ,children, aunties whoever it is .Lets all come out on the day of protest on a peaceful legal protest because it is about engagement, it is about communication with the country’s administration. It is not a partisan protest,” chief said.
Ndiweni also said the government has no right to reject the idea or to act in an aggressive manner.
