Aid Workers in Mozambique yesterday said they are unable to reach many people affected by Cyclone Kenneth which struck on Thursday due to heavy rains.
United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) said it failed to fly to Pemba yesterday because of the harsh weather and they are hoping to go there today.
“The weather is making everything more challenging because it keeps raining and the roads are impossible. One of the key bridges has collapsed and it is very difficult for us to access the people who are in need,”
“We are very concern on how we can bring food to these people who need it ,It is a very complex operation for us because we bring helicopters and we were tried to do everything we can to bring the food to these people,”
It is reported that this Cyclone Kenneth leaves 7 dead, hundreds at risk and it has destroyed homes and infrastructure.
