Economic Freedom Fighters have called upon the Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy Gwede Mantashe to relieve himself from his duties after trying to bribe journalist from writing about his sex scandals.
“As the EFF we believe these allegations maybe true and call on Mantashe to step down as Minister and Member of Parliament for engaging in unethical and corrupt relations with the media,”
EFF said Mantashe might as well be mismanaging state funds for his own benefit to cover up for the crimes he might have committed.
“Mantashe must step down, if he is bribing journalist to hide a sex story, we can only imagine what other corrupt activities he is involved in. A man willing to bribe journalists is capable of being bribed himself as a government official and member of the executive. He must step down with immediate effect,”
The opposition party called upon Sunday World to disclose evidence pointing towards the Minister.
It is alleged Mantashe was having an extra marital relationship with 26 year old Lerato Hadibe Makgatho who bragged about receiving attention from Mantashe and Tito Mboweni.
