ExQ, Nutty O in court over fake COVID-19 certificates

The two former members of the Military Touch Movement (MTM) had to brave the cold while behind bars over the weekend.Contemporary musicians ExQ and Nutty OExQ, real name Enock Munhenga and Nutty O, real name Carrington Simbarashe Chiwadzwa, are expected to appear in court today for bail ruling after they were arrested for possessing fake COVID-19 certificates on Friday.The two were reportedly arrested at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport on arrival on June 8 this year after tendering fake COVID-19 certificates to immigration authorities.

Zimbabwean  entertainers have found themselves in trouble with the law over violations of Covid-19 protocols.Earlier this year, Zimdancehall superproducers DJ Fantan and Levels spent 2 weeks behind bars after they pleaded guilty to breaching Covid-19 regulations.The Chillspot Records founders landed themselves in trouble with the law when they organised a New Year bash which was attended by thousands of people in Harare’s Mbare suburb.

Exq and Nutty O who are facing fraud charges and are represented by Raymond Savanhu, spent the weekend behind bars at Harare Remand Prison.It is alleged the documents were acquired by the duo in South Africa and were used to board the flight back home after the duo successfully used them at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg.
