Energy and Power Development Minister Adv. Fortune Chasi has dismissed the Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA) board from their services claiming they were concentrating on minor issues which are not affecting the majority.
Posting on his twitter handle Adv.Chasi said he decided to dissolve the new ZESA board because it was not functioning very well and it was not serving the interest of the majority.
“Took I took the decision to dissolve the zesa board. This was after reflecting on the dire power situation in the country. Upon reviewing the minutes of the board. I was convinced that it was in the national interest that I take action, ”said Chasi.
Hon.Chasi said ZESA played an integral role in the country and it required a board which thinks outside the box and are determined to bring revolution in the country.
“Zesa is a central to our economy it must led by women and men in that order of skill and integrity and experience Zesa is crying out for transformation, ”said Chasi.
The ZESA members were appointed by the former Energy and Power Development Minister Joram Gumbo included Mr Collins Chihuri, Ms Jacqueline Sande, Mr Trust Chifamba, Mr Hussern Omar, Mrs Catherine Befura and Mr Thomas Tirime.
Of late Zimbabwe has been facing load shedding and it has been affecting the economy sector.
