FRAUD: Econet Employee & Accomplices charged

Nicholas Rusenza (45) an employee at Econet Wireless based in Workington, Harare was arrested on Saturday evening together with his accomplices Malvern Mutanda (32) and Levi Idana (33).

The three were arrested by the police for forging National Identity card  belonging to Luckmore Peter cloning the complainant’s mobile sim card to link it to his banks and transferred  $3 335.00 from the complainants’ CBZ and  $9.00 from Steward Bank accounts respectively linked to the number.

The money was then transferred into five different Ecocash lines to hide any trails of the transactions linking back to them.

The trio was later on the day arrested on their way to Workington where they intended to make another Sim replacement for another victim who is yet to be advised to make a formal report to the police, said investigating officer.

Rusenza and his gang appeared before a Harare Magistrate today were remanded on $50.00 bail to reappear on 29th of  September 2017 for trial.
