Fuel price goes up again

Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority has revealed the price for fuel starting on Monday 9 September 2019.

Diesel now retails at a maximum price of $10.42 ,while petrol moves slightly up to $9.95. Compared to September 2 ,the maximum pump price was $10.25 for diesel and $9.86 for fuel.

The fuel price had gone down last week for the first time this year.

The now and then price increase is a move that suggests government is moving towards Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube,s view to have it at par with the interbank value of US$1.

June 2019 – petrol and diesel were retailing at $4.97 and $4.89 respectively .Fast forward to today ,the cost is now $9.95 and $10.42 respectively.
