Harare City temporary supply water

Harare City Council yesterday posted that it had secured chemicals to resume water production temporary since the supply will only last for a week while a permanent solution is being worked out.

The progress was implemented after Harare City Council had cut water supplies the entire Harare Metropolitan area, citing the shortages of critical treatment chemicals.

Government last week claimed that it had released $37.4 million as part of the interventions to improve water access and water treatment.Council spokesperson Mr Michael Chideme confirmed the shut down claiming that the council was incapacitated.

He cited drought as the major cause of water shortages and again shortages of foreign currency to import treatment chemicals.
