Jah Prayzah caught in “Unpaid Portraits” storm

Zimbabwe’s international music artist Mukudzei Mukombe, popularly known as Jah Prayzah has been caught up in a storm of portraits of himself and the late Legend Dr Oliver Tuku Mtukudzi, he seized from former Children’s Home artist and have neglected and/or refused to pay for.

He had also promised to bring to the late Dr. Oliver Mtukudzi’s attention, the expert work of art by the handicapped Given on his behalf thereby giving the young painter exposure and privilege. Sadly, more than a year later that would not to be and never to be as the music icon passed on.

In a blockbuster exposee by the firebrand comedian cum activist Felistas Murata Edwards where she features siblings Given who is physically handicapped and Vivian, it is alleged Jah Prayzah took the portraits in 2017 on pretext of either paying for them in cash or in lieu of studio time for the siblings to record.

Nevertheless, countless efforts by the duo to recover the value of the duo’s work has been fruitless and dropped a risk of the younger of the siblings (a girl) receiving sexual advances from Jah Prayzah’s office and security details. An irate Mai TT could not hold her anger when one fan attempted to restrain her from mentioning the music artist’s name

“This facebook platform is a space for us the underprivileged to express our issues……… mwana ange akunzi tikubhaudhe bhaudhe, I will not stop saying the issue (the little girl being lured to sexual advances, I will not stop talking about it), “ she ranted.

Its further alleged Jah Prayzah is often claimed to be unavailable every time the duo approaches his office to ask for either the money of their portraits back. The kids also said there are times they had to walk all the way to Jah Prayzah’s Belvedere office, much to no help or avail.

The video has drawn a lot of hurt from the fans of the internationally acclaimed music artist who has been known of his soft spoken voice and much published trail of charity support.
