King Mswati dismisses polygamous report

His Majesty King Mswati III of Swaziland has dismissed reports that he directed men to marry more wives or jailed if they failed to do so starting in June 2019.

The issue was in most of the foreign newspapers like the Zambian Observer newspaper, it also went viral on Social Media yesterday.

In a statement Mswati’s spokesperson Percy N.Simelane said the King has never been raised that issue.

Simela also the issue is not only an insult to the Monarchy and the culture of Eswatini but a disgrace to Journalism.

“We will continue to appeal for morality, responsible behaviour and professionalism among Journalists and the general public with access to social media. It would be unfortunate if journalism and social media are turned into character assassination platforms and springboards to ridicule individuals and leaders,”

The government of Swaziland has then urged the Zambian Observer newspaper to produce the correct statement and retract this malicious report.
