A Harare man has opposed the upward variation saying he has never received a salary increment since 2014.
Edmore Shamhu was dragged to Harare Civil court by his wife Silvia Mushanguri who claimed the maintenance money for 4 children to be varied from $90 to $320.
“I oppose the application because ever since 2014 my salary has not changed, My net salary is 343 but as of now am receiving $205 because my company is facing some challenges, so they promised that they will give us the balance,” Shamhu said.
“When we had this last child I never thought that we are going to come to court again because we did this child at home as father and mother. Plus the other child is married, the other one is now an adult, he is now 19 years old,” he added.
In response Mushanguri said “Yes Misper is now married but Milton is still going to school,”
Mushanguri also withdrew her application of $320 to $120 as she realised that her husband’s income is very little.
In delivering her ruling magistrate Sheila Nanzombe discharged the maintenance of Misper and Milton. She then ordered Shamhu to pay $100 maintenance for the remaining two minor children.
