Permanent Secretary for Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Nick Mangwana has read the riot act on the media houses calling them to stop being destructive to the nation but to serve the majority.
Addressing Stake Holders Mangwana urged media platforms to be of use to the country by being part of nation building than being of harm to the society.
“We agreed on the core issues that we needed a free media in Zimbabwe, a media that does not toxify our people…”said Mangwana.
Mangwana also advised the media to be responsible and avoid being malicious but to be of respect to societies.The media should also not incite violence.
“We agreed on a media set up that has integrity that takes responsibility and saves the national interest…”
President Emmerson Mnangagwa addressing the nation at the National Dialogue held at Harare International Conference Centre also encouraged the media to be part and parcel of national building.
