Member of Parliament for Norton Constituency Temba Mliswa has called upon Zimbabwe United Passenger Company (ZUPCO) to educate its drivers and conductors about customer care. Mliswa said ZUPCO workers were failing to respect and engage with customers.
Mliswa said customers were being ill-treated by drivers and conductors. Hon. Mliswa said the electronic ticketing was not working as conductors gave an excuse that there was a network challenge.
“After this experience, I propose that the ZUPCO bus drivers and conductors wear ZUPCO uniforms with identifications tags for better customer care and swifter service delivery. We need bus drivers who practice customer care, who are efficient and effective,”
“Norton residents are grateful but the long breaks that at ZUPCO drivers are taking are inconveniencing the clients. There must respect for client and consistent times at which the services are provided. It’s not only a Norton Constituency but a National problem,”
Nepotism has been taking place in these buses.
The ZUPCO fleets are unfriendly to women since men use their muscularity leaving most women in the central business district during peak hours.
