Zimbabwe Professional Nurses Union (ZPNU) has demanded the immediate and unconditional release of Dr Peter Magombeyi following the order granted by the High Court.
High Court has ordered government to quickly release Magombeyi within 48 hours.
It is reported that Dr Magombeyi was abducted 3 unidentified men and he has not been since Saturday.
In a statement ZPNU said, “Our thoughts and prayers are with Dr Magombeyi, his family and fellow colleagues. We urge the government to urgently take swift action for his safe release and hold perpetrators of these human rights violations accountable forthwith….,”
ZPNU has also urged government to protect citizens from human rights threats by respecting and promoting its workers.
Dr Magombeyi has been leading doctors’ protest where they were fighting for better working conditions in the country.
