Phase 2 Vaccination Programme kicks-off

Government has announced the beginning of Phase 2 of the National Covid- 19 Vaccination Programme encompassing of college and university lecturers and school teachers.

According to the Ministry of Information, Government has been authorized by the Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe to use the 4 vaccines namely; Sinopharm, Sinovac (China),Covaxin (India) & Sputnik-V (Russia).

This comes after Zimbabwe received more Covid 19 vaccine doses from state allies.

Progress has been registered in receiving the second donation of 200 000 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine from China, a donation of 75 000 doses of the inactivated Covaxin from India, and another donation of 20 000 doses of Sputnik-V vaccine from Russia”, said Mutsvangwa in a post cabinet briefing.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of health has recorded a total number of 35 761 front line workers that have been vaccinated.
