Tenda Bus owner granted bail

Mutare businessman, Ernest Mungwari who owns Tenda buses and his alleged accomplice Mary Njongwe were released today on $150 bail.

Mungwari aged 71 and Njongwe 34 were arrested yesterday with allegations of obstructing the course of justice.

The court heard that on the October 13 the two hired touts and blocked detectives from confiscating smuggled goods which had been recovered from Njongwe’s shop in Sakubva. With the assistance of the touts the illegal exported goods was forcibly loaded into two vehicles.

Mutare presiding Magistrate, Mr Tendai Mahwe granted the two bail and ordered them not to interfere with the state witness and to appear in court on November 20 for trial.
