The return of Former Democratic Alliance leader Helen Zille has dropped a massive bomb on two hierarchies from the party leader Mmusi Maimane and chairperson Athol Trollip withdraw their services from the party.
The stepping down of the two main opposition leaders brought has shocked as they resigned after the electing of Zille gets a big post in the party as the DA’s new Federal Council Chairperson.
Zille said that at the moment they did not have a leader and they will have to seek legal advice from their attorney as they had encountered an unusual situation were two leaders had exited from the party.
“Our Constitution makes provision for the fact that if a leader in unforeseen circumstances the party chairperson takes over until new leader can be elected. This is an unusual situation both the leader and the chairpersons have taken the individual decision at the same time…”
It is alleged that Zille and Maimane were not in good books as Zille was racist and did not want to save the black race.
Maimane and Trollip made a public announcement about their resignation at the party’s Federals executive meeting on Wednesday
