Richard Tsvangirai, the son of the late political heavyweight Dr Morgan Richard Tsvangirai has criticised the behavior of Zimbabwe Republic Police Officers by brutally attacking defenseless civilians during the Movement for Democratic Change Alliance (MDC-A) planned protest.
On his instagram handle Tsvangirai said it was wrong of states security to torture and harass ordinary civilians who love their country.
“Brutality perpetrated by ZRP on peace-loving citizens is unacceptable and should be condemned its totality by non-violent people,”said Tsvangirai.
Tsvangirai criticized the Mnangagwa regime for adopting the same tactics by the old dispensation for brutally attacking and harassing ordinary civilians while they claim they are changing from the Mugabe government.
“This phenomenon has proved that there’s nothing new in the 2nd republic, but rather the perpetuation of human rights delinquencies and poverty, which were the order of the day in the 1st republic,”the post read.
The opposition party led by Advocate Nelson Chamisa had organized a demonstration to fight against a corrupt government, fuel shortages and power cuts. The Harare High Court dismissed the MDC-A application to protest against the Mnangagwa regime.
