UAE donates medical equipment to Harare Hospital

United Arab Emirates (UAE) has donated medical equipment to Harare Central Hospital yesterday which were received by Minister of Health and Child Care Minister Dr Obadiah Moyo at NatPharm warehouse.

The equipment included dialysis machines, intensive care unit incubators, vital signs monitors, respiratory aid devices and multi-parameter monitors.

Dr Obadiah Moyo said “It will take a long way in alleviating some of the challenges being experienced in public health institutions. While the initial consignment was for Harare Hospital, all the other health institutions in the country will eventually benefit.”

He said more equipment as well as drugs were expected to continue coming into the country from the UAE. The UAE has also committed to assisting Government in renovating Harare Central Hospital in addition to the equipment and drugs.

There is more which is coming on a continuous basis. This just the first batch of several other pieces of equipment which UAE has donated to Zimbabwe. At the same time, they have indicated that they will be large quantities of medicines that they will also be donating,” said Dr Moyo.
