The United States of American Embassy has donated a sum of $600k to assist small scale farmers who were affected by Cyclone Idai in Chimamani.
Posting on its twitter handle US Embassy had assisted small scale farmers who were affected by the Storm in March along Chimanimani and Mozambique so they can recover from the losses they encountered during the storm.
“Proud to announce an additional $600k to assist 1,700 small holder farmers in Chimanimani District to recover and rebuild their lives following #Cyclone Idai .This partnership with lead Trust will help smallholder farmers over the next 12 months,”
Tropical Cyclone Idai claimed thousands of lives and livestock in Mozambique and Zimbabwe.Buildings were demolished including Charles Lwanga Secondary Schools
Different organisation have so far assisted Cyclone Idai victims through shelter, clothes and food to keep them surviving.
Cyclone Idai has been declared a national disaster and the country had to come together and mourn the Idai victims.
