ZESA disappoints customers due to technical challenges


ZESA spokesperson Fulland Gwasira on the 4th of March said the organization was facing a technichal problem whereby people were failing to buy electricity.

In a statement ,Gwasira said they are working on fixing the problem.

“It’s country wide .We are working to fix the challenge, which has affected Econet’s Eco Cash (mobile money transfer facility) and we are investigating whether it is our side of the system or Eco Cash,” he said.

Econet also apologized for the inconveniences which were caused by the organization on which their engineers are still working on to solve the problem.

“We sincerely apologize for the service you have been experiencing on Eco Cash ,voice and data services .Our engineers are working flat out to restore normal services.”

The majority of Zimbabweans showed their disappointment on twitter by posting criticizing Econet for failing to deliver its services.

“Please can someone from @econet _support tell us what’s happening? Are you holding us to ransom ?No lunch ,no transactions ,younow control our cash .Or your system doesn’t understand RTGS DOLLARS,”@arambananepasi commented on Twitter.

ZESA and Econet techniques problems has left Zimbabweans stranded as they cannot purchase electricity tokens.
