Zimbabwe Hospital Doctors association (ZHDA) has condemned the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) after preventing Dr Peter Magombeyi to seek medical treatment in foreign countries after the High Court had ordered him to seek medical treatment in foreign countries.
“We as ZHDA strongly condemn the actions taken by the ZRP to prevent our Acting President Dr Peter Magombeyi from leaving on South Africa for medical attention which is urgently. We call upon the relevant authorities to come to their senses and let our acting President access his right,”
A video has been circulating on social media were Dr Magombeyi is escorted by the state security officials.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police has challenged the High Court by suspending the ZHDA leader to seek treatment. ZLHR filed a case and won against ZRP for barring Magombeyi to seek medical assistance from specialist in South Africa.
Dr Magombeyi was abducted by three unknown men from his house in Budiriro and later dumped in Nyabire. Health professionals took the streets and demonstrated for his immediate return.
