In a country that has lost all dignity and respect of men and women that selflessly served the nation, former ZBC Television news anchor David Emberton who remains a darling of his community and fans was earlier today cuffed and paraded for an alleged shoplifting crime.
Emberton who resides in Kamfinsa where he usually shops and commutes suffers from dementia but remains a harmless, gentle and polite oldman often forgets his bearings and sometimes requires minimal assistance with his activities was arrested in Spar Letombo Park where he is suspected of attempting to leave the supermarket with a pack of bacon he had not paid for.
Instead of management and security staff investigating on the alleged crime and offender’s wellness, they couldnt resist a mugshot and blew it on social media.
Despite his health woes, Emberton lives a modest life with respect from his close friends and peers who expressed shock and dismay and the way he has been handled and treated. Post leaving ZBC, Dave headed Multichoice as its Chief Executive Officer before retiring on health grounds.
This incident raises the country’s frontline managers’ ignorance of dementia with also a former ZBC colleague once arrained for whiskey theft at a Mutomba Supermarket few years ago.
