Water crisis,Government dragged to court

Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) has taken the government to court on behalf of Community Water Alliance challenging over the dire water situations in the Capital . In the case ZLHR called upon the government to find another alternative to provide water to the Capital City residents.

At 2.30 PM, Justice Owen Tagu will preside over the hearing of an urgent application filed by ZLHR Lawyers on behalf of water alliance seeking to compel central government and City of Harare to make urgent provisions to supply water to residents in Harare,”

Community Water Alliance has called upon President Emmerson Mnangagwa to declare water crisis as a national disaster.

“Water alliance is seeking an order to compel President Mnangagwa to declare the water crisis in Harare a state disaster,”

Of late Zimbabwe has been hit by water crisis. Harare City Council recently announced that there were shortages of foreign currency to purchase water chemicals.

Most Zimbabweans have resorted to open wells leaving them at the risk of water borne diseases such as Cholera.
