ZRP condemns acts of assaults on police: Zimbabweans react

Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has strongly condemned acts of assaults on police officers.

It is reported that a woman police officer was attacked last week in Harare city between Kwame Nkuruma and Agwa streets.

Posting on twitter ZRP said no one has the right to attack any police officer regardless of status, colour or religion.

“The ZRP is disturbed by the continuous acts of assaults on police officers at the area between Kwame Nkuruma and Angwa street. No one has the right to attack police officers irrespective of one’s religion, colour, creed or status. Police will ensure law and order is maintained,”

However a number of people on social media reacted, saying police deserve serious beatings because they always attack innocent civilians. It is alleged that police last week brutally attacked a Harare vendor by the name Tafadzwa Tamangani and later died in their custody.
